The busy atmosphere at Moscow’s Expocentre was reflected not only in the 40 catwalk shows, the technical seminars and workshops but also, of course, at the exhibition stands.

“Trade fairs continue to be ever more important in Eastern Europe,” says Christian Kasch, Project Director CPM, and goes on to say: “You feel that Russian specialist retailers do their utmost to stay in business.” 950 collections were presented on a total of 45,000 square metres. Top buyers from throughout Eastern Europe and the Russian regions including the cities of Astrakhan, Ekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Novokuznetsk, Novosibirsk, Omsk, St. Petersburg and Yakutsk capitalised on the multi-faceted ranges exhibited at CPM with its segments CPM Premium, CPM Kids, CPM Accessories as well as Mode Lingerie & Swim Moscow.

Commenting on this Philipp Kronen, Managing Partner at the Igedo Company, says: “Never before did we ever have so many last-minute enquiries from companies wanting to take part in the trade fair. Even on the three construction days prior to the opening – supported by our partner Messe Düsseldorf Moscow – we managed to organise participation for four companies.”

This trend is also in evidence in other industries as Thomas Stenzel, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf Moscow, the strategic partner of the Igedo Company, confirms: “We have also observed this trend with other trade fairs such as the “Inlegmash”, a trade fair for textile machinery that we co-organise: trade fairs in Russia, in particular, are used as the most effective and efficient marketing instrument.”

The next CPM – Collections Première Moscow will be held from 31 August to 3 September 2016 at the Expocentre in Moscow. National and international manufacturers will be showcasing their collections for the 2017 Spring/Summer season.
