As from 1 June 2011 Clemens Hauser (49) will be the Technical Director of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH and will have full statutory power. He is taking over the responsibilities of Managing Director Wilfried Moog, who is retiring on 31 May.
Werner M. Dornscheidt, Chief Executive Officer and President of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, is pleased: “By appointing Clemens Hauser,” he says, “we have gained a high-profile expert in this position.” He goes on to say: “Moreover, we’ve been able to make this important appointment from our own ranks.” The relevant core expertise is therefore staying within the company and helping to ensure the sustained development of the exhibition centre.
After his degree in electrical engineering, Hauser started a professional career in sales, distribution and project management at ANSALDO (Germany) GmbH in Düsseldorf. He has worked for Messe Düsseldorf since 1998. In 2001 he was appointed deputy director of event engineering. Only a year later he took over as head of business and communications technology and oversaw the construction and operation of the technical installations at the exhibition centre.
As a representative of AUMA (the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry), Hauser is an active expert member of two working groups within DKE (German Electrical Engineering Commission).
Clemens Hauser is married with three daughters.

The Messe Düsseldorf Group
With €335 million in sales in 2010, the Messe Düsseldorf Group consolidated its position as one of Germany's most successful trade fair companies. Although 2010 had a relatively low number of trade fairs, Düsseldorf nevertheless attracted some 28,000 exhibitors and 1.4m visitors. More than 40 exhibitions were held in Düsseldorf, including 23 globally leading trade fairs in five areas of competence – machinery and equipment, trade and services, medicine and healthcare, lifestyle and leisure – as well as some 100 proprietary and joint events outside Germany, demonstrating that the Messe Düsseldorf Group is one of the leading global platforms for export. Messe Düsseldorf GmbH is the number one company in the internationalism of investment goods exhibitions: in 2010 over 60 per cent of its exhibitors came from outside Germany and over 40 per cent of all visitors. Also, our trade fairs attracted customers from 151 countries. The group has a global network of sales offices in 127 countries (68 representations) as well as competence centres in nine countries. The Group has an annual average workforce of 1,286.
