The autumn 2001 fairs will be held as planned in Duesseldorf. Karlheinz Wismer, President and CEO of Messe Duesseldorf GmbH notes: "All festive ancillary events for GDS - International Shoe Fair, from 13 to 16 September 2001, have been cancelled. On behalf of the entire staff of the Messe Duesseldorf Group, I would like to express our deepest sympathy for the victims of the attacks on the United States and for their loved ones".
