About 150 concerts, shows and sports events chose DuesseldorfCongress Veranstaltungsgesellschaft to provide locations in the year 2007. At the start of the new year, already 100 new event highlights are booked for the coming twelve months.
In addition to numerous concerts presented by international music stars, the event locations in Duesseldorf continue to offer their visitors many top-quality sports events, dance and music shows, comedy highlights and exhibitions in 2008. The schedule for January and February offers the whole bandwidth of major public events. It includes the “Lachende PHILIPSHALLE“ carnival show, “Holiday on Ice”, comedian Michael Mittermeier and ice-skater Katarina Witt, the “Internationale Musikparade” music show, the Chinese National Circus and the Wintercup held by Stadtwerke Duesseldorf as well as a soccer test match between Fortuna Duesseldorf and FC Bayern Muenchen.
And in spring, we welcome artists such as André Rieu, Katie Melua and Mireille Mathieu. In April 2008, LTU arena will present “dc duesseldorf contemporary”, the first art exhibition of its kind in a multi-purpose arena. At the ISS DOME, a volleyball qualification tournament for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing will be held from 23 to 25 May.
And in summer, two hot highlights are coming to Duesseldorf. On 08 June, the British band “The Police“ is stopping in Duesseldorf during its comeback tour. Singer STING and his three fellow musicians are returning to the stage after a 21-year hiatus to present their show all over the world. LTU arena is one of only three stops in Germany. A few days later, on 16 June, Bruce Springsteen will play LTU arena during his comeback tour. After a break of five years, “The Boss“ and his E-Street Band will again hit the road and make two stops in German cities. Duesseldorf was selected as one of the elite locations.
Some of the concert and show highlights for the second half of 2008 have been confirmed as well. Santana, Rosenstolz and comedian Mario Barth, among others, have announced their visit. In September 2008, the new soccer season starts for Fortuna Duesseldorf at LTU arena and the ice-hockey season for DEG METRO STARS at the ISS DOME.
