"Welcome Salt Lake City!" The upcoming winter Paralympics/2002 Olympic Games in Utah is the theme of the Paralympics Night gala, to be held 2 October 2001 at 7.00 pm in the Swissôtel Neuss.

For the third time, the DBS (German sport association for the disabled), Förderkreis Behindertensport e.V. (promotional association for sport for the disabled) plus Messe Duesseldorf, organiser of REHACare International (2 - 5 October) are hosting this sport fund-raising gala, traditionally held on the first day of the trade fair.

Event patron is Doris Schröder-Kopf, who will be accompanied by her husband, German Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder and present the "Paralympic Media Award 2001" as one of the gala's highlights. Additionally, many celebrities from the world of sports, business, politics, culture and entertainment will attend the top gala in Neuss, which will include a stellar show programme.
