At today’s meeting of the Messe Duesseldorf GmbH Supervisory Board, the new Lord Mayor of Duesseldorf Dirk Elbers was appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Mr. Elbers has already served many years on the Supervisory Board in his previous capacity as Deputy Mayor of the state capital. He assumes his new duties following the death in May of his predecessor, Joachim Erwin.

After the meeting, Werner M. Dornscheidt, President and CEO of Messe Duesseldorf GmbH, emphasised: “Our Supervisory Board team is once again complete and fully geared up to meet all future challenges. I am absolutely confident that the choice of Dirk Elbers ensures a continued stable and constructive collaboration – key requirements for boosting our operative trade fair business at our home base as well as the growth of our Group in Germany and abroad.”

Dornscheidt added that he respected Dirk Elbers as someone who knows how to position the industry highlights staged in Duesseldorf to optimal effect and to continue successfully tapping their potential in the global competition.
