Positive signals as regards EuroCIS to be held in Düsseldorf from 2 to 4 March 2010: Great expectations for leading fair of the sector

20.12.2009

There are a lot of good omens for EuroCIS 2010, because the interest in Europe’s largest Trade Fair for Communications, Information and Security Technology in Retail continues unabated. Ten weeks before EuroCIS opens on 2 March 2010 a total of 148 exhibitors from 17 countries already registered total stand areas of 5,017 square metres net. This means that booking results are almost the same they were at the previous event (157 exhibitors and 5,012 square metres as per December 2008). South Korea will be represented at EuroCIS 2010 for the first time. The country will even be represented by three exhibitors.

EuroCIS is the only trade fair in Europe, covering the full gamut of retail-related IT sectoral know how. The fair will also cover all relevant topics for the years to come. Market leaders will be represented for all product fields, such as ADT Sensormatic, Bizerba, Checkpoint Systems, EPSON, GK Software, IBM, Mettler Toledo, SAP, Tomra Systems, Torex Retail Solutions, and Wincor Nixdorf.

As Mr. Wilhelm Niedergoeker, Managing Director at Düsseldorf Messe, underlines:  “EuroCIS, a trade fair, managed to develop into the leading platform for IT applications in the retail sector. Every year it bears out again the speed of new developments in IT. It also underlines the need for specialised applications for the retail sector in particular. The latest surveys carried out by the EHI Retail Institut underline that comprehensive investment for the IT and security sectors will be taken in hand despite present market difficulties. Based on these projections we again expect over 200 exhibitors and an active interest among trade visitors for EuroCIS in March 2010.”

Firich Enterprises Co., Ltd. from Taiwan will be represented at EuroCIS 2010 for the first time. It is just one of the newcomers to EuroCIS. Ms. Ping Yuan, Sales Director of Firich Enterprises Co., Ltd. said: “FEC is one of Taiwan’s major development and manufacturing enterprises for POS terminals and associated hardware. We learnt from our customers that EuroCIS is the ideal vantage point for suppliers of point-of-sale / point-of-service hardware and software providers. We therefore believe that EuroCIS provides us with a welcome opportunity to advertise FEC and to tap into new customer potential”. She added: “At EuroCIS we will present touch-screen terminals developed especially for retail and restaurant applications”.

EuroCIS 2010 will be open to trade visitors from Tuesday, 2 March 2010, until Thursday, 4 March 2010, from 10.00 a. m. to 06.00 p. m. every day. The price of a day ticket is € 20 (€ 15 when purchased online, inclusive of postage). A two-day ticket costs € 35 (€ 27 when purchased online, again inclusive of postage). Student and trainee tickets are available at € 10. All tickets also entitle holders to free travel on public transport (VRR) to and from the fair.  For any additional EuroCIS information please visit EuroCIS on the internet:  www.eurocis.com.
