Buyers on the look-out for the most important trends and looks for the 2011 Spring/Summer season will be given a comprehensive overview of the sector at GDS from 10 to 12 September 2010. Some 760 international exhibitors with approx. 1,750 collections will be presenting a comprehensive range of progressive and classic premium brands, fashion quality brands, the colourful street and sportswear scene as well as the latest kids’ fashion.
Numerous newcomers have already registered to exhibit. These include interesting brands like Antichic, Badgley Mischka, Betsey Johnson, Carlos Santos, Cesare Paciotti, D.A.T.E., Four Leather, Franca, Ikks Shoes, King, Mac Dugan with Carlo Ventura and Koxks, Mika, Luca Mode, Luciana Cavalli, MCM, Orquídea Negra, Premiata, Prima Ballerina, Santandrea, Sofia Costa, Swiss Line and many more.
Furthermore, under its “Follow the Trends” umbrella brand GDS will be improving its trend concept even further. “As an international fashion and trend trade fair we wish to satisfy our visitors’ great information needs to the very best of our ability without overburdening them. This is why we are now fine-tuning our trend concept,” explains GDS Director Kirstin Deutelmoser. At GDS this trend concept runs through the fair like an underlying visual thread guiding visitors through the different halls. What’s new here is that visitors can now already see at the entrance area where each trend theme is located. The trend fashion show presents the new looks and styles prevailing on the fashion scene. Trend installations provide information on product details and inspiration for goods displays in the store. Furthermore, experts provide insight into long-term lifestyle trends and their impact on shoes and accessories. Lectures on key fashion and ordering tendencies and special themes supplement the range. In order that visitors can prepare fully for the fair there will in future be considerably more information available ahead of the fair on the GDS website.

GLOBAL SHOES: Strong Platform for the Global Volume Business
March 2007 saw the launch of GLOBAL SHOES as an independent fair in its own right. Since then the two concurrent fairs have been clearly separate in spatial terms. The volume business was previously part of GDS. In September of this year the leading trade show for sourcing held in Halls 8a and 8b featuring some 360 exhibitors will once again provide a complete overview of the global volume business. “GLOBAL SHOES is a strong platform which will also attract large numbers of key interested buyers and producers at its next event,” explains GLOBAL SHOES Director Kirstin Deutelmoser. After a market adjustment against the backdrop of the global economic crisis this volume fair has stood its ground as a key business-to-business platform.
The next GDS / GLOBAL SHOES trade fairs will be held from 10 to 12 September 2010.
