PERSONAL SAFETY HIGHLIGHTED

To the rescue is American International Industries with its Vigil Antislip stair nosings, ladder rung covers, vinyl decking, and other anti-slip products to enhance worker safety.
Protective apparel is also high on the exhibit agenda at OS+H Asia 2010, with exhibitors from three continents showcasing their latest wares. Cold, heat and electricity, chemicals and even extreme weather conditions can be combated with functional protective clothing from Austria’s Tempex. Going far beyond conventional standards, its FMP collection is not only impressive due to the comprehensive molten metal splash protection it provides, but also its light weight and high wearing comfort. According to Tempex, it is only when people feel good will they be able to concentrate on their work, even in extreme situations and perform at their best over the long term.
Coveralls and lab coats made from nonwoven fabrics by Taiwan’s Derekduck Industries provide an added level of protection for workers in various industrial situations. The various lightweight, cost-effective, breathable and comfortable products available provide protection against chemical liquid (EN368) and blood (ASTM F1670), radioactive contamination (EN1073-2), and biological hazards and infective agents (EN14126) and are approved in accordance with the EN1149-1 antistatic standard.
U.S.-headquartered Lakeland Industries also provides protective clothing for a wide variety of applications, including limited-use and disposable clothing, chemical protective clothing, flame resistant clothing and fire fighting turnout gear, and aluminized industrial heat protective clothing. The products are proven on-the-job every day, and are specified routinely for workers in the chemical, petrochemical, healthcare, automotive, glass, cement and other industries in which hazardous materials must be handled.
