REHACARE INTERNATIONAL 2010 set to Showcase Industry’s Best

16.07.2010

From 6th to 9th October 2010, the international rehabilitation and care market will once again convene for the biggest trade fair event in their calendar, the REHACARE INTERNATIONAL in Düsseldorf. Around 750 exhibitors from 29 countries will provide a comprehensive overview of the aids and services required by people with special needs, in need of care and the chronically ill to make their daily lives easier.

30,000 square metres of exhibition space in Halls 3-6, 7 and 7a have been leased to exhibitors. “The REHACARE 2010 will showcase a range of products comparable to that presented in 2008. Judging by the current number of registrations received, it will effortlessly achieve the high standard of that event”, says Joachim Schäfer, CEO of the Messe Düsseldorf. “One in three exhibitors is coming from abroad, with Denmark, France, Great Britain, Taiwan and the USA being represented in Düsseldorf by large joint presentations.“

The REHACARE provides solutions for almost every type of disability and for all areas of life, including mobility aids, aids for daily living, assistive equipment for nursing and home care, communications technology, living spaces, ideas for leisure, travel and sports.

The range of mobility products available leaves nothing to be desired, running the gamut from walking aids and powerful, modern mobility scooters right through to wheelchairs for everyday, leisure and sporting activities. All the industry’s top names and products will be represented in Düsseldorf with around 200 exhibitors providing buyers, trade visitors from rehabilitation and care, and people with disabilities and their families with a comprehensive overview of innovations and advancements in this field.

Disabled drivers should also look out for innovations. The automotive industry will be showcasing its latest adapted cars in Hall 6, where they will be joined by specialist providers of highly-customised features and adaptations.

This year’s show devotes a great deal of space to the issue of living environ-ments. A model home in the “Wohn(t)raum”  theme park (“Barrier-Free Living at its Best”) exhibition in Hall 3 will demonstrate ways in which living spaces can be rendered largely barrier-free or altered using conventional equipment and modern technology to make them more comfortable or suitable for the elderly..

REHACARE 2010 will also feature a new special display on the topic of Ambient Assisted Living (AAL). This term is used to describe concepts, technical products and services which either eliminate the need for older, single people to perform everyday tasks or which make them easier to perform.  Around 20 exhibitors from research, politics and the housing industry, all of whom have also played a large part in shaping the REHACARE Congress, will enhance their presentations in this joint showcase with practical tips and innovative products.

As well as presenting technical innovations and advancements, this year’s REHACARE will once again be strongly focused on exchanging ideas and infor-mation. A great deal of attention will therefore be given to the discussion on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
