Veletrhy Brno charts the course for future HR - Czech subsidiary of MD under new leadership

At its extraordinary meeting on 17 December 2009 the management board of limited company Veletrhy Brno (BV) appointed Jiří Kuliš as its Director General. Kuliš succeeds Jiri Skrla (60) who resigned from his post by mutual agreement in September 2009. At the same time, the board of BV appointed Norbert Schmidt as the General Commercial Manager. Schmidt follows Ales Pohl (43), who also left the company in September 2009.

Jiří Kuliš (born in 1952) studied economics at the Prague University of Economics specialising in export trade. From 1976 – 1992 he held various executive positions at the Brno trade fair company. From 1992 – 2005 he was Head of the Diplomatic Mission of the Czech Replic in New Zealand. He then represented the Czech Republic as Trade Attaché for Australia and New Zealand and Trade and Economic Attaché in Japan and the USA. From 2006 he acted as an external consultant to BVV management on internationalisation matters. Mrr Kuliš is married with two children.

Norbert M. Schmidt (born in 1965) joined Messe Düsseldorf 1992 where he worked as a Project Director from 1993-1999. In 2000 he was commissioned with establishing a joint venture between Messe Düsseldorf and KölnMesse as Project Director. In 2001 he took over as a General Manager of the joint venture CIDEX Trade Fairs Pvt. Ltd. in India. With effect from 1 January 2004 he moved to OOO Messe Düsseldorf Moscow as a Managing Director. Mr Schmidt is married with two children.
