Warehouse "Stockumer Höfe 1" partially burnt down by fire
On Thursday, 21 February 2019, around 7.45 p.m., the "Stockumer Höfe 1" warehouse outside the actual exhibition grounds, was set on fire for reasons not yet clarified.
Just five minutes later, the Düsseldorf fire brigade – supported by the Messe Düsseldorf works fire brigade – was on site. The immediately initiated fire-fighting operations quickly limited the fire. However, also these quick measures could not prevent the eastern part of the hall from burning down over an area of around 50 by 50 metres.
According to the latest findings, people were not harmed.

In 2018, Messe Düsseldorf's proprietary events in machinery, plants and equipment attracted approx. 77% international exhibitors and 70% trade visitors from other countries. In all, Düsseldorf trade fairs were attended by customers from about 180 countries.
