Taking a wheelchair to the Trade Fair Center is no problem
In order to make your visit to the fair as pleasant, effective and successful as possible, Messe Düsseldorf has developed a range of services for persons with disabilities. But first, a list of important telephone numbers that can make your trip to the fairgrounds much easier.
To the fair by plane
Düsseldorf International Airport is equipped for persons with disabilities. From there, you can reach the Trade Fair Center entrances in about ten minutes by bus #896. Please note: The route is not always served by kneeling buses.
By bus and rail, you can reach the Trade Fair Center in about 25 minutes from the central railway station. Subway lines U78 and U79 (starting from the underground portion of the railway station) can be accessed by lift. If your destination is the East or South Entrance or the Congress Center, simply transfer at the Messe Ost/Stockumer Kirchstraße station to bus #722. Again, this route is not always served by kneeling buses.

Parking spaces at the Trade Fair Center
Messe Düsseldorf has reserved parking spaces for drivers with special needs ( disability card with mark "aG" or "Bl") in the Arena-Straße (Arena Street), directly in front of the Northern Entrance.
Access
Eighteen of the Trade Fair Center’s halls have ground-level access. Both of Hall 7’s upper levels and the upper levels of the Congress Centers can be reached via lift. Each hall has sanitary facilities for the disabled. There are also restaurants and bistros with ground-level access.
Messe Center
The Messe Center, featuring services like the post office, telecom office, travel agency, banks, etc. is located directly adjacent to the trade fair towers. Lifts will take you to the first floor, where Messe Düsseldorf’s Press Club and Guest Club are also located.
Wheelchair rentals, first aid and medical assistance
You can rent wheelchairs at our first aid station in the North Entrance. Ask a staff member or use one of the hall telephones located next to each entrance. However, we urge you to reserve your wheelchair in advance.

Düsseldorf, a barrierfree experience
Our Partner Düsseldorf Tourismus provides vistors with advice and suggestions for a barrier-free stay in our city. You will find details about sights and service institutions as well as information on accessible accommodation, public transport and events. DMT offers guided city walks in German sign language and guided tours to blind people, people with impaired mobility and to wheelchair users. Our tourist information offices at the main station and in the Altstadt (Old Town) provide level access and lowered counters and our staff has received trainings to be aware of your special needs.
