Innovations for tomorrow’s world of work
The strong relevance of A+A’s themes was reflected in the high level of satisfaction among trade visitors: around 97 percent confirmed that their expectations of the trade fair were fully met or even exceeded.
A+A covers the global market for personal protective equipment (PPE) in a uniquely comprehensive way. Beyond that, it presents the latest trends – from sustainable materials in PPE and mental health in the workplace to digital assistance systems for safe working environments.
The EXO PARK showcased exoskeletons and digital ergonomics solutions in realistic application scenarios, making future technologies tangible. In the areas of workwear and PPE, exhibiting companies demonstrated that modern protective clothing has long united design, function, and sustainability. Lightweight materials, smart features, and resource-efficient production processes characterized the collections – as did a growing awareness of comfort and identity in the workplace.
A special source of inspiration once again came from the International Start-up Zone and the Start-up Area of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), where young companies impressed with creativity and innovative strength – from sensor-based protection systems and AI analyses to sustainable solutions for greater safety and efficiency.
39th A+A Congress scores points with novel formats and international guests
Registering some 3,000 participants from Germany and abroad, the 39th International Congress for Occupational Safety and Occupational Medicine (A+A Congress) 2025 confirmed its role as the leading platform for safety and health at work. The Congress organised by the Federal German Association for Occupational Safety and Health (Basi) boasted around 100 events and 330 speakers.
New formats such as the Vision Zero Stage in Hall 9 and the A+A Cinema catered to relevance for practitioners and made for high attendance figures. They brought the Congress closer to trade fair activities. On the Day of OSH Officers (Tag der Sicherheitsbeauftragten) the future and relevance of the over 700,000 occupational safety officers in Germany were centrestage. In addition, participants were able to obtain certification points for their continuing professional education. In terms of content, the Congress reflected the current challenges and opportunities of our working environment; digitalisation and artificial intelligence in occupational safety, health-promoting leadership, violence prevention at the workplace as well as occupational medicine updates were among the central topics.
Dr. Christian Felten, Managing Director of Basi, drew a positive conclusion: “The A+A Congress 2025 has made it clear: prevention is more than theory – it is experienceable and forward-looking.
Now we are looking ahead to the 40th A+A Congress 2027 in Düsseldorf – with fresh impulses and the aim of making the world of work safer and healthier.”
Inspiring versatile supporting programme
Alongside the Congress the trade fair offered a multi-facetted programme of side events that combined expert knowledge with experiences and societal commitment. The Trend Forum became the meeting point for knowledge transfer and innovation: experts discussed prevention, mental health, artificial intelligence and the responsible deployment of digital technologies.
In the fields of fire protection and emergency management live demonstrations provided hands-on insights into modern safety and rescue technologies.
Fashion accents were set by the Corporate Fashion Show in Hall 15, which proved a crowd puller four times a day. On the A+A catwalk leading manufacturers from the PPE industry staged collections that fuse protection with utility, sustainability and up-to-date design. Modern workwear is not only synonymous with safety today but also with style, comfort and brand identity – as was mirrored by each presentation.
The next A+A will take place from 19 to 22 October 2027 in Düsseldorf. Exhibitor, visitor and expert testimonials on A+A 2025 can be found in the attachment of the release or as a video at https://www.aplusa-online.com/live_2
