It all began in 2000 with the new, multifunctional Hall 6. Since then, Messe Düsseldorf has been consistently implementing its master plan, modernizing building after building – the company’s response to the increasing logistical demands of exhibiting companies, new technical possibilities and the growing expectations of attendees.
Messe Düsseldorf operates in a highly dynamic market. Competition within the industry is becoming increasingly fierce, both nationally and internationally. That’s why infrastructure investments are a crucial part of the corporate strategy. Hardly a year goes by without renovation work at the Exhibition Center in Düsseldorf as, step by step, the halls are being modernized.
Thanks to its sustainable and sound economic management over a long period of time, Messe Düsseldorf has created the financial leeway to handle a wide range of modernization work without external financing. These projects reflect the company’s long-term confidence in the growth of its Düsseldorf-based trade show business – and reaffirm its commitment to remaining competitive over the long term by operating one of the world’s most technologically advanced trade show venues.
Continuous Modernization of the Site
Following the completion of Hall 1 and the South Entrance in 2020, Messe Düsseldorf has been pressing ahead with its development plans. A number of major projects are set to be implemented in the coming years that are sure to have a lasting impact on the site.
By 2028, Messe Düsseldorf will have modernized Hall 9 and constructed a functional building with entrances and conference rooms connected to the front of it. The administrative headquarters will be renovated at the same time. Messe Düsseldorf is investing a total of approximately €100 million in this project.
