Leading up to the kick-off, numerous school projects, join-in formats and career orientation activities in Düsseldorf and its surroundings will increase anticipation for the event. In September 2027, the exhibition halls will finally turn into a showcase for vocational education in Europe – a meeting point for young talent, business, associations and politics.
High-Impact Event
“Through demographic change and the associated skilled labor shortages EuroSkills has gained ever more importance. Here, talent becomes visible. Here, young people experience just how exciting skilled trades and technical professions can be. So as a company we’re making a significant contribution to solving one of the central socio-political challenges,” stresses Wolfram N. Diener, President & CEO of Messe Düsseldorf. “For Düsseldorf, EuroSkills is not just an event with international flair but also a strong signal sent to our regional economy and the many enterprises that urgently need well-trained skilled workers.”
“EuroSkills Düsseldorf 2027 will truly prove a highlight for all those interested in career opportunities in vocational professions, in innovation and the future of our working world,” says Dawid Solak, CEO of EuroSkills Düsseldorf 2027 GmbH. “The event will be even bigger than the most recent one in Herning – proving a high-impact event for both participants and vocational training in Central Europe.”
Best Possible Stage for Top Performance
Messe Düsseldorf aims to provide not only the perfect setting for high-quality competitions – ranging from logistics and hall planning to visitor guidance and join-in activities – but also to stage an event with festival flair. “Our exhibition halls are set to buzz with enthusiasm. We want to create optimal conditions for all the very different competitions – and provide tomorrow’s decision-makers with an attractive stage show their best,” adds Kirstin Deutelmoser, Director Commercial Development at Messe Düsseldorf. No matter whether this is for spectacular, loud disciplines involving heavy machinery or for competitions that require silence and highest concentration.
EuroSkills 2027 in Düsseldorf will receive funding of EUR 10m in total. The North-Rhine Westphalian ministers of Labor, Health and Social Affairs (MAGS NRW) as well as of Economy, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy (MWIKE NRW) are providing EUR 5m in funding, the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) another EUR 5m. The City of Düsseldorf is also contributing to funding.
