Messe Düsseldorf now has a new service in the offing: CARAVAN SALON Düsseldorf, held from 4 to 13 September 2020, will see the digital exhibitor pass used for the first time. While until now exhibitors were only able to order exhibitors passes up until a deadline and had to wait for them to be delivered by surface mail, it is now easy, quick and flexible to order and manage the pass via Messe Düsseldorf’s Online Order System (OOS). Through this webshop to the tune of 3,500 products and services for a trade fair appearance can be sourced – these also include voucher codes for exhibitor passes. Exhibitors’ employees can subsequently register online with their respective voucher codes and obtain their personalised exhibitor pass.
Stressing the benefits of this new digital service Wolfram N. Diener, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, said: “The digital exhibitor pass offers our exhibitors easy and convenient handling, more flexibility, planning security and transparent, fair pricing.” The Exhibitor-Voucher-Code Manager allows the exhibitor to track at any time how many exhibitor passes have already been ordered and redeemed. Since surface mailing has become superfluous exhibitor passes can now even be re-ordered during an event. Payment is only effected after the registered staff members have entered the Exhibition Centre. So exhibitors only pay for the exhibitor passes that are actually used.
Dr. Christian Plenge, Executive Director Digital Strategy and Communication, emphasises the safety aspect: “Thanks to our digital exhibitor passes we can monitor at any time which employees of the exhibitor are currently present and/or were present at the Exhibition Centre.” This, he adds, particularly pays off during the current Corona pandemic. “We offer a digital solution to ensure both the registration and traceability currently required.” Like with the digital exhibitor passes all service providers and service partners will now also register their staff for specific events. Visitors register as they acquire their online admission tickets in the Ticketshop. Diener also considers the project a particularly important move against this background: “As we resume the trade fair operations that the economy so urgently needs, we also celebrate the launch of a new digital service. And we show: business will carry on. We are constantly working on the future – of our company and of the trade fair format. Digital exhibitor passes are an important step towards this. The objective: to offer our customers the best services as usual.”
The most recent digital innovations of Messe Düsseldorf include the gradual re-launch of the trade fair Apps for visitors as well as the further development of the Matchmaking Tool that brings together exhibitors and visitors with matching interests at the click of a button. Furthermore, the trade fair company continues extending its digital presentation options for its exhibitors. “On our online portals trade fairs have long been in operation 365 days a year,” underscores Diener and adds: “We are constantly developing these formats further with a view to present our customers’ multi-media content in an even more attractive and user-friendly way. This will pay off during and after the Covid-19 period.”
