Messe Düsseldorf GmbH is postponing SportsInnovation 2020, which was originally scheduled for 25 and 26 March 2020 in the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA Düsseldorf, as the quality of the event can no longer be guaranteed due to the increasingly dynamic developments in relation to the Corona virus (Covid-19).
The joint partners, Deutsche Fußball Liga as the conceptual sponsor and the gold sponsor Deltatre respect this decision by Messe Düsseldorf. In close coordination with the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga, Messe Düsseldorf will communicate an alternative date in good time and with the involvement of the exhibitors in order to guarantee all parties involved the greatest possible planning security.
By postponing, Messe Düsseldorf is the following the recommendation of the crisis management team of the German government to take the principles of the Robert Koch Institute into account when assessing the risk of major events and the decision by the state capital of NRW, Düsseldorf, on 10 March 2020 to comply with the decree of the NRW Health Ministry on the staging of major events. According to this decree, events with more than 1,000 expected visitors/participants will no longer take place. On this basis Messe Düsseldorf has reassessed the situation.
"Our partners, exhibitors, visitors and the media can rely on us to act calmly and responsibly even in difficult situations," explains Werner M. Dornscheidt, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, and adds: "In addition to the health of our customers and employees, our top priority is to ensure planning reliability. That is why we are currently doing everything we can to find a new date with our partners as quickly as possible".
