Construction work has been underway since 2025: Hall 9 and the North Entrance will be modernized and expanded by 2028. The next project milestone is just around the corner: In mid-2026 – after dokomi – Hall 9 will be taken out of operation for the next construction phase.
The next milestone in Messe Düsseldorf’s master plan is Hall 9, which is to be completely modernized and expanded, with an investment of approximately €200 million by 2028. Among other things, the modernization of the hall itself includes the expansion of the supporting structure and the renovation of the hall roof. During the construction work, the hall's floor space will also be expanded by 2,000 square meters.
"We want to continuously improve the services we offer our customers. Each completed project phase illustrates what we can achieve as a team. And that is precisely what motivates us to tackle the next steps with just as much energy and passion."
A striking highlight of the future Hall 9 will be the new entrance building with additional access points and new conference rooms. These additions will significantly expand Messe Düsseldorf’s range of event offerings, tailored precisely to the needs of customers. That said, it will be a while before the work is completed. Hall 9 will initially be taken out of operation in mid-2026. While construction is underway, attendees of major trade shows will be guided from the North Entrance through Hall 9 to Hall 10 via temporarily installed corridors.
